The Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP) is comprised of health education professionals who collect and analyze data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and interpreting programs designed to encourage healthy behaviors.
We have developed and continue to enhance a comprehensive health promotion approach that promotes and supports a healthy lifestyle that includes:
- Avoiding tobacco use and exposure
- Participating in regular physical activity
- Making good dietary choices
- Taking steps to avoid injuries
Our programs and activities include:
CDPHP works with many diverse programs, agencies, organizations and community coalitions to foster physical, social and policy changes within Clark County that make it easier for residents and visitors to engage in healthy lifestyles.
Mission: To mobilize communities, develop innovative, evidence-based programs and advocate for policies that support healthy lifestyles, healthy communities and the elimination of health disparities.
Vision: To lead through collaboration with internal and external partners to bring innovative, creative health promotion programming to the community. |
