Glossary of Terms
Drug and Alcohol Counseling Services: The progress and carrying out of a plan of action that reduces the use of alcohol and drugs.
Mental Health Counseling Services: Mental Health Counseling services would include the act of treating and/or counseling children and families who suffer from behaviors, actions, or thoughts that negatively impact their daily lives.
Information and Referral Services: Individuals who provide information on what is available and who is available in the community to help people.
Individual, Family and Group Counseling Services: The use of special skills to assist individuals, families or groups in achieving goals by looking at problems, solutions and decision-making.
Residential Services: Resources and supports that are provided to children and families who are presently living in a governmental or private institution.
School Services: Services are custom made to meet the needs of the family. This process is used when more than one agency is providing services to the family. The family input and participation is important.
