Mental Health Service Providers

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): These professionals provide services for the diagnoses, treatment and prevention of mental and emotional disorders in individuals, families and groups through treatment interventions which may include psychosocial evaluation, counseling of individuals, families and groups, referral to community resources, and individual, marital and group psychotherapy.

Psychologist (Ph.D.): Psychologists provide services which include psychological testing, assessments, treatment planning and implementation and psychotherapy sessions. The also make sense of testing results and interview individuals to determine treatment and placement needs.

Psychiatrist (M.D.): Psychiatrists are doctors with a specialty in planning, directing and participating in complete mental health services to children and families as well as determining what medical factors might be involved and what medications might be prescribed.

Licensed Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Problem Gambling Counselors: These professionals focus on applying counseling to reduce or eliminate the regular use of alcohol or other drugs. They also apply counseling to reduce or eliminate problem gambling.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist: The Marriage and Family Therapist uses diagnoses, therapies, treatments, counseling and other measures with persons or groups for problems in the area of marriage, family or personal relationships.

Psychiatric Nurse (RN): Psychiatric Nurses provide nursing care to mentally ill, mentally challenged, and/or mentally and physically ill individuals in a health care setting. Psychiatric nurses identify patient health care needs, prepare nursing care plans, participate in treatment teams, give medications, and assist in physical examinations and diagnostic testing.
