The Southern Nevada Health District’s (SNHD) Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion developed health information segments in Spanish called “Viva Saludable” con el Distrito de Salud del Sur de Nevada/”Live Healthy” with the Southern Nevada Health District.
Each 30 second health segment focuses on a specific issue related to the prevention of chronic diseases in the Hispanic community such as: Tobacco, Cardiovascular Disease, Asthma, Diabetes, Cancer, Obesity, Nutrition, physical activity, and more.
Brenda Macias, a well known professional in the southern Nevada Hispanic/Latino media market appears in each health segment. The health segments are currently airing on Telemundo (television) and “La Preciosa” (radio).
The print component of the campaign can bee seen in the “El Tiempo” newspaper affiliated with the Las Vegas Review Journal. Additionally, the television segments can viewed here or on large monitors in the SNHD Ravenholt Public Health Center located at 625 Shadow Lane.
